Lazy Days of Summer????

Summer is here.  Days of barbecues, vacations, hanging by the pool or the lake are some of the favorite staple activities we all come to enjoy.  Many of your patients are doing the same. It is not unusual for practices to see a bit of a slowdown during this time of the year.  Statistically, 10-15% of all your active patients are on vacation at any given time.  Hopefully, you have similar plans.

Smart practices use this mid-point in the year to perform an assessment of their practices goals.  Are you on track to achieving what you envisioned at the start of the year?  If not, what can you do to make the second half of the year stellar?

These same smart practices use the extra time in their schedules to perform their annual compliance activities.  One of the more time-intensive activities is to perform self-audits of patient charts.  While not always a favorite, this can be one of the most important things you can do to identify holes in your documentation as well as missed opportunities for reimbursement.

If you have not performed such an audit before, it might be a great idea, not to mention a huge saving in time, to hire an outside independent and certified specialist to do this baseline audit for you.  Let them look at your documentation before an insurance company does.  The team at KMC University has the largest team of certified compliance specialist in the profession.  Check out this service at https://www.kmcuniversity.com/store/three-chart-review.  Let them allow you to continue to enjoy these summer days!
